Battles

Battles, found in the battles tab (or the second button of the bottom center navigation interface), also earns players gold. Unlike missions which use mission energy, battles use "stamina" to participate in. Each "stamina" is regenerated at a rate of one every 15 minutes. While missions are variable in energy cost, battles are fixed at 1 battle per stamina. Players start out with 10 stamina and may increase this by purchasing elite, ultra and prime packs. Each pack is unlockable by purchasing the previous, and a final pack, the omega pack, currently does not increase PVP stamina.

Battles are fought in battle mode, with the active player going first.

Players may choose from a line up of at least 17, but often typically 18 opponents at a time in the battle screen, each opponent displaying his tyrant username and his guild, as well as gold earned for successfully completing a battle. Losing a battle awards 25% of the published gold rate.

If a player does not like the crop of available opponents, they have 2 options to change the lineup:

  • log off and log back on after at least 1 hour - this refreshes rival list for free
  • press the refresh button located below the stamina counter, at a cost of 50 gold, it will refresh the entire lineup of rivals to a new set of rivals - this is useful for doing "faction conqueror" or "faction killer" quests

Minimum gold earned is 75 gold per battle, while maximum gold is 300. Factors affecting gold earned are player level and battle rating.

Battle rating and level system

Battle rating (BR) is a ranking system in the Player vs Player (PVP) battle mode. Each battle win earns at least 30BR, with more earned if the defending player defeated is at a much higher battle rating than you. As you increase your BR, it builds up and once you surpass a certain amount, you may increase your "player level" which does three things:

  • totally refreshes your mission energy (from whatever its current number is until it's full limit)
  • totally refreshes your pvp stamina (from whatever its current number is until it's full limit)
  • unlocks a commander card

The first 20 levels does all of the above.

Phase two of the level system is from ranks 21-25. A second tier BR system (BR2) is used to determine progression, where one win adds 10BR2 and one loss now reduces BR2, depending on the player level.

21: -10BR2
22: -15BR2
23: -20BR2
24: -30BR2
25: -40BR2

one "defense loss" (which happens when you are attacked) also deducts BR2,with an higher deduction for higher levels

21: -1BR2
22: -1BR2
23: -2BR2
24: -3BR2
25: -4BR2

Levels 22-25 each have a "gold win" bonus for staying at that level. If 75 gold is the base gold earning at all previous levels, each succeeding level adds a 5% gold payout (rounded up). Level 25 has a minimum payout of 94 gold per win.
